Christopher Heudebourck Morgan[3] (born 23 March 1947) is the current Bishop of Colchester.[1] He was educated at the City of Bath Boys School and Lancaster University.[4] After a period of study at Kelham Theological College he was ordained in 1974.[5] His ecclesiastical career began with a curacy at St James the Great, Birstall[6] after which he was a Chaplain in Brussels, Vicar of St George, Redditch and then Sonning. From 1985 to 1996 he was Gloucester Diocesan Officer for Ministry and then a Residentiary Canon at its Cathedral until his elevation to the Episcopate. His current chaplain is Timothy Caradoc Platts, also Priest-in-Charge of Elmstead Market. A keen hill walker,[7] Bishop Christopher is married to Anne, with two children.[1]
